UK Only Servers
With more and more hosting companies operating out of the USA it is becoming harder to figure out where your site is hosted from, even a lot of companies that appear to be run in the UK use servers from USA. Whilst this practise lowers the cost of hosting your site it also means that your site runs slower that it should because it has to travel from the USA before getting to your screen.
When we first opened our doors back in 2007 we made a pledge that all our servers would be hosted in the UK, meaning that our clients can get the best possible web experience as the site will load quicker as the server is closer to them. We have also managed to keep our costs down meaning that local hosting no longer has to cost the earth. Also with our servers being in the UK it means that you are not going to suffer any nasty, unexpected downtime as a lot of US based hosts tend to take down their servers during UK daylight hours. We try our best to keep all maintenance windows until at least 1am and also try and do them over the weekends when the servers are less busy.
Full backups for your website.
We know that always having an upto date backup is essential when running any important website, and we also know that remembering to take a backup can easliy be overlooked. Thats why we have implemented the R1Soft Continuous Data Protection (CDP) system. Every 6 hours our backup servers take a copy of any files that have been modified. You also have easy access to the R1Soft servers so that you can simply restore a file back to the latest update often meaning that you do not have to wait for support in order to restore a file and get your site back up and running the way it should be.
Not only does this give you an extra level of peace of mind but also means that should you forget to take a regular backup then your data is still going to be safe. (we always recommend that you keep up to date backups, just incase the worst should ever happen.)
